It's so good to see this forum. When I first found out about Cadasil after my dad's diagnosis in 2005, nothing like this existed and I felt so alone. I tested positive in Nov 2010 and have had a hard time trying to adjust to this. Genetic illness was an absolute shock to my whole family as we had no idea we had one. Knowing I have it myself turned my entire world upside down and life has never been the same since.

I am interested to know how other people have dealt with living with a positive test result/ symptoms and whether you have developed any coping strategies?

I try to practice mindfulness and live in the present moment but this is hard with having a young child, working, money worries etc. I am also fighting panic attacks, which I've not had since my teens, which start when I experience (or think I am experiencing) a symptom.
